About this hotel

Spiti Sojourn is a traditional Hygge Stay in a remote village in Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh, nestled amidst breath-taking trans-Himalayan mountains. We provide an unforgettable experience of local life in the valley with comfortable accommodations and warm hospitality.

Spiti Sojourn is a serene sanctuary of escape, wonder, and culture. On a cold evening in June 2017, under a starlit sky, we got the idea of sharing our home and our stories with people worldwide then Spiti Sojourn was seeded. To share how sublime one unknown corner of our Earth can be, experience the vastness of the universe. To see clouds caught playfully by mountain tops. To bear the extremities of nature and the sharing of resources. To share the warmth of our culture And the deliciousness of our food. To bathe in slowness and the art of doing nothing, To have a conversation with one’s self and soul.

Key Feature: See the Milky Way, find a cosy spot on our terrace, or if you are adventurous, head up the ridge for an unforgettable night sky experience. (weather permitting) We have a clear view of the Milky Way from our terrace, and you can spend the night at our sit-out (or lie-down) area here to marvel at all the wonders of the night sky theatre.

Conversations with the nuns A fifteen-minute walk from our home is the Pangmo nunnery, house to around 60 nuns from around Spiti. You can spend a day with them for enriching conversations about the history and philosophy of our land. We highly recommend it!

Please use water sparingly because Spiti is a desert, and water is a rare resource. Every showpiece in our home is handmade or collected with love, and please admire it with care. Each book is a little treasure of our work-in-progress library, and please feel free to use and return the reader to the library. We are a quiet village that has to wake up early; please be kind to our neighbours and avoid late-night loud parties.
