Mer Homestay is tucked away in the quiet Himalayan village of Peora, around an 80 km, three-hour drive from Kathgodam railway station. Spread across 7.5 acres of lush orchards, it offers a peaceful escape surrounded by mountains, forests, and open skies.
The homestay is an ideal base for nature lovers. Guests can go trekking in the Himalayas, hike through the nearby Mukteshwar forest, plan a day trip to the historic Jageshwar temple, or simply slow down and enjoy village life. Those curious about farm living can even join in, from plucking fruits and vegetables to milking a cow.
Evenings are especially special, with organic, home-cooked meals prepared by the warm and welcoming Mer family. The setting is perfect for children and young travellers, with opportunities for birdwatching, forest walks, and breathtaking views of the Himalayan peaks. Clear nights bring a stunning starlit sky, so a telescope is highly recommended.
Adventure activities like ziplining and rappelling are available in Mukteshwar, making for an easy day trip.
Mer Homestay offers two comfortable rooms. Each room features a double bed, a small living area, kitchen, and attached bathroom on the lower level, along with a loft upstairs that can accommodate two additional guests on mattresses.
Guests can cook their own meals or request home-cooked food from the family. A simple local eatery, Puran’s Dhaba, is also located nearby.
