Ballyhack Cottage is believed to be one of the first houses to be built in Shimla in 1826 as a residence to the Governor General of India, Sir Lord Amherst. Over its nearly two hundred years, the house has changed many names and owners. The estate, Sidhowal Lodge, has been with the present family since 1946.
